Doctor of Educational Technology

Technology is infusing every aspect of the educational experience. This three-year terminal degree program is designed with your professional research in mind so that you can examine current issues of technology in all types of educational environments. You will learn to conduct research relevant to your own work context, to utilize rigorous evaluation methods for educational technology, and to design and conduct technology-based training.
 

As a student in our DET program, you will:

• Take courses designed for working adults - Our program is designed for those working full-time. All courses are offered completely online with no on-campus requirements. You will work with tenured faculty and members of your cohort throughout the program in a variety of formats.
• Write your dissertation using an alternative format - Create a practical dissertation you can apply in the real world. Your work will consist of several shorter, publishable pieces that can immediately impact the field of your choice; taken together, your dissertation will create an in-depth study offering different perspectives on the topic.
• Be a part of a diverse cohort - Our cohorts consist of global students from fields such as K-12 education teachers and administrators; higher education faculty, program directors, and administrators; and those in the military, the corporate world, and working for non-profit organizations and government agencies.
